The idea for Connections Educational Solutions was first born in 2017, but it would be years before it came to fruition. As an ESL teacher and administrator in a district with a large and ever-growing English learner population, Kelsey was contacted several times by smaller districts looking for information, guidance, and general help with their English learners and ESL programs. She quickly realized that there is a gap between state and federal requirements and the assistance that is readily available to districts for their ESL programs: a gap that she was uniquely qualified to fill, as she has experience working in a large district with a large EL population, yet herself attended and currently lives in a small, rural district.
The opportune time to start Connections came in 2024. With 7 years of managing one district's ESL program and 3 years of managing another's, Kelsey decided to officially start the ESL educational consulting company that she had been thinking about for so long. Her goal is to assist districts, especially those with smaller numbers of English learners, develop an ESL program that fits their needs: ESL services, paperwork, testing, and law compliance, as well as professional development for teachers and aid in obtaining funding.
